KARINE ROCHE
Marble lines
It is not a specific view but a composition with different points of views of The great mosque, Qsar Al Watan or Emirate Palace. It is a more traditional and representative architecture of the Middle East as opposed to skyscrapers with their globalized contemporary architectures. They are a symbolic representation of this Arab-Muslim tradition. The softness of the curved lines, the roundings, and the arabesques in the decorations create new landscapes which induce a new story. I was interested in the different shades of white due to the intense reflection of light on the white marble. The composition takes up the motifs of interior and exterior decoration like arabesque. The lines of nature are integrated into the architecture.
